Tell Us Dumb Things You've Heard Elders & Bethelites Say

there are a lot of dumb organization men.

gb losch seems to be the top dog for dumbness.. in the local halls i've seen and heard many dumb elders open their mouths.. one elder had a fondness for bible prophecy and watchtower chronology.

he always speculated on what the "watchtower really means" about a statement in print.

"It takes 10 years at Bethel to understand Holy Spirit"

those words have been spoken to me a bunch of times by bethelites.

some of you on here try to reason with jw's by showing us how our reasoning is wrong, i do the same thing.

what i forget is that whenever i used to hear a teaching or a decision that didn't make sense, it then became "holy spirit" working.

hehe! a lady i know uses the internet but really hates it. she's not a dub... YET, but thinks like one cos of my mum. nothing i say works to keep he from being a drone. i'm araid to say anything cos i coud lose her friendship. really sucks having no real life friends. wish there was a way to convince her how bad they are. my mum needs to be silenced somehow... :)

JWs and Alternative Medicine.

two anti-doctor witnesses i am very familiar with are my mother-in-law and my used-to-be best friend's aunt.

by alternative medicine i mean holistic healing, herbal treatments, etc.

these people don't go to regular doctors but go to self-proclaimed specialists (i call them shamans) who tell them what foods and plants to eat that will make them all better.

speaking of quacks, is that elctric universe model popular with JWs? my dad buys into that and think scientists are part of some conspiracy. and thinks nikola tesla wasn't a quack. even thought tesla was later in life.

and we still wonder how some of our relatives stay trapped inside it.

well, steve hassans book " releasing the bonds " explains briefly in chapter 4 how it can happen.
